The Housing Authority of the City of Richmond (IN) is seeking a highly qualified candidate to lead and manage the agency’s operating budget of $4.25 million and portfolio that includes 273 housing choice vouchers, 303 public housing units, and 12 NSP units. The agency is governed by a seven-member Board and staffed with 16 employees. The agency has also provided for a strong commitment and initiatives in youth development, family self-sufficiency, homeownership, and resident training / employment.
The successful candidate must have completed a Bachelor’s degree, and preferably a Master’s degree, in business administration, public administration, urban planning, law, or a closely related field. Candidates must also have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible management experience in a public housing authority or other similar public agency, three (3) of which should be at the manager or director level. However, candidates with exceptional academic or experience backgrounds that compensate for an academic or experience deficiency may still be considered at the discretion of the Board of Commissioners. Finalists will be required to provide academic, work history, and salary history verification. The consultant will complete criminal and credit history background checks.
